I agree that ACL is not responsible in any way for any Data and or Programs on my Computer.

I have listed my important information above and I accept that it may not be possible to save any of this Data.

I accept that no Programs or Operating Systems will be reinstalled on my computer unless I leave the original Disks, CDs and Licences with ACL.

I agree to register all software with the relevant manufacturer.

I acknowledge that the following conditions are not covered under warranty:

1. removal of viruses and repairing damage caused by viruses .
2. problems caused by power surges or low electrical power.
3. problems caused by loading incompatible software or software drivers.

I request that ACL Computers (ACL) examine and/or test the above Equipment. I accept that the non-refundable charge for "Computer Pickup, Inspection & Return" is due and payable for this service before inspection/repair can begin. If the item can be repaired the charge will be credited towards the total cost of repair. This charge covers the first hour of Labour. I acknowledge that I will be charged € 40 Ex VAT per hour for any time after the first hour spent working on my Equipment.

I warrant that I do not know of any dangers present in any of this Equipment other than as stated above.

I agree that ACL accepts my Equipment defined in the "Computer Pickup, Inspection & Return form" and does not guarantee or warrant to be able to repair it. I accept that this Equipment is stored, inspected and tested solely at my risk. I agree to pay for any work carried out whether or not the requested repair is completed. I agree that ACL may remove Parts to test them and accepts no responsibility that any Parts will continue to work when replaced.

I agree to pick up the Equipment within 5 days of being notified that it is ready whether or not it has been fixed. If I do not pick it up within 5 days I hereby give ACL the right to dispose of the Equipment as they see fit.

If the hard drive fails on your computer or your operating system becomes corrupt then:

1. it may not be possible to retrieve your data from your hard drive. To retrieve data is very time consuming and expensive. It can sometimes take days to recover files.
2. the Operating system will need to be reinstalled on your hard drive. You will need the original CDs and licence. You may need to register with Microsoft again, follow the instructions on the screen when you first switch on the computer.
3. all your software programs will need to be installed. This means that you will need all the original disks and licences.
4. all printers, scanners, cameras and other peripheral equipment will need to be reinstalled.
5. when you get your computer back the screen will appear completely different from the last time you saw it.


Protect your data by making regular backups outside the computer. Data can be lost if:

1. you catch a computer virus or worm which attacks data, software programs, or the operating system
2. you experience a power cut.
3. you get a power surge through the electricity supply,network lead or the phone lead. Some surges can be protected against by a surge protected trailing socket. It is important to protect the phone/network connection as well as the electrical supply.
4. you switch the computer on and off without going through the shutdown process.
5. your computer receives a sudden knock or bang.
6. your hard drive fails through malfunction or wear and tear.
7. You load software which is not compatible with your operating system.


Keep all your software disks and driver disks safe along with the relevant licences.


Your computer will be assigned a job number and all jobs are started in sequence. It may be two (or more) days before your job is started. Hardware tests can take days to complete. These tests are to check the CPU, RAM memory, Drives, Ports, Motherboard and other cards. ACL will use our best efforts to repair your computer but this is not always possible. In order to do this we may need hardware parts or software disks from the manufacturer. Such parts or disks may not be available.
